My name is Rita Rahimi. I’m a filmmaker, performer, and visual artist working across film, body, and artificial intelligence.
For more than two decades, I have built worlds where image, identity, and technology collide.

I am openly nonbinary, visibly queer, and based in the Islamic Republic of Iran. My work exists without softening itself. Each film, each image, stands as evidence that presence can be an act of resistance.

My existence is my aesthetic.

FANA

FANA is the universe that holds my recurring characters, myths, and visual language. For seven years it has unfolded through short films, comics, exhibitions, and AI-driven cinema. Different mediums. One unifying concept.

A Visceral Performer

Authenticity is the core of my practice. As an actor, dancer, painter, and performance artist, whatever I create must emerge from a true source within my psyche. Whether I am moving on camera, applying pigment to a surface, or performing through an AI character, the impulse begins internally and translates outward. Even when mediated by technology, the work remains rooted in lived sensation, instinct, and psychological truth.

From building Flash animations in the early days of the internet to mastering VFX, post-production, and now cutting-edge generative AI, I have continuously evolved alongside technology. I design virtual performers, engineer custom workflows, and I integrate emerging tools into cinematic storytelling with precision. Technical limitation is never an excuse. The vision leads.
